How to download your Capital One statements
OFX / QFXOFX/QFX where offered. PDF statements exist but Pare can't parse them.
Capital One offers a transaction export from the account activity view. Availability of the Quicken format varies by product.
Steps
- 01Sign in at capitalone.com and open the account.
- 02Open account activity and look for Download / Export transactions.
- 03Pick Quicken (.qfx) if offered.
- 04Drop the file into Pare.
Worth knowing
Some Capital One products only export CSV, which Pare's drop zone doesn't accept. Check the format list before planning around it.
What Pare does with it
Drop the file into Pare and it parses the transactions locally, categorises them, and builds spending trends, budgets and a cash-flow forecast. Uploaded PDFs are deleted the moment they're parsed, and Pare never asks for your bank login. You can also self-host it so the data never leaves your machine.
